It was published on VHS and DVD in 2002 and is still available at Amazon or any other DVD shop without any problems.
Another movie that takes an adult approach to a fairy tale is "Snow White - A Tale of Terror" with Sigorney Weaver and Sam Neill. One of my favourites. Totally haunting and beautiful.
Talking about Disney: I remember they had to call back and destroy millions of tapes of "The Lion King" at the time of its release, because some guy at Disney thought it funny to incorporate a picture of a naked women into the movie! You couldn't see it while watching the movie, as it was just one frame and the human eye is to slow to catch it. But if you watched it frame by frame... there it was! :D The Disney bosses were furious, of course.
OK, now I'm REALLY off to bed...

Eeks. I'm falling behind on the posting here, aren't I? ;D
I too am fascinated by the inner workings of the human mind in relation to sex and non-sex related fantasy. We have so much in common! :D It's late, though, so I'm not gonna get into it right now. But I will! Later. ;)
And btw, I saw 'Snow White - A Tale of Terror'. I can't remember much, though, except I think I really disliked Snow White and wanted her to die. I don't like the whiny. ;)

I couldn't find much on the subject, but I did find an answer to a girls plea to understand what was wrong with her, having rape fantasies. :-X
Basically the doc said that women fantasize about rape as sort of a way of taking their responsibility out of wanting sex. They feel dirty about liking it, so they want the man to take the blame.
While I do agree that might be true for some women...(my aunt comes to mind...) I don't feel this is true about me. I don't feel dirty about sex or wanting it. I'm more inclined to say, "Screw you, I'll do what I want." ;) I try not to let people's opinion's form my reality...so feeling guilty about wanting sex isn't really why I write non-con. *shrugs*

I don't remember where I got this from, but I know I've read about rape fantasies before and how a very large percentage of women (and a percentage of men) have them on a regular basis. It's not really an uncommon thing. So yeah, Elven, I don't really think it's a "dirty" thing for most women. I think it's just....something more difficult to explain. It's a submission/dominance thing that is completely safe. I know for myself, the "sex equals dirty" thing is definitely not why I think about it. ;)

@ Frosty: LMAO regarding "Snow White" - bad girl, bad, bad girl! ;D Actually, I thought, Gil Bellows was rather cute in this, he was the guy staying with the dwarves that Snow White falls in love with. Did you actually realize this was no other then BILLY from Ally McBeal?
@ Elven: Forget that explanation you found on the net, it is rubbish. I know that explanation for non-con/rape fantasies and have been doing so for years, but most psychologists and particularly most women will tell you this is completely bollocks. This explanation will only work for women who have a somewhat disturbed perception of themselves and their sexuality, maybe triggered by some traumatic experience in their life (child abuse or whatever) thus thinking sex is dirty, thus blaiming everything on the man in their fantasy, yadayadayada. But that is a the case for a VERY small percentage of the women in question.
Most have, as Frosty pointed out, a VERY healthy perception of themselves, their bodies, sexuality in general and their sex life in particular. I can only speak for myself, but me and my husband enjoy a very healthy sex life, we enjoy sex, we think sex is fun, we have a lot of fun WITH it and we have no problems telling each other of our respective fantasies and why we have them. That in itself helps a lot to understand what makes the other tick, thus improving the way you deal with each other and after all, sex is just the icing on the cake of love, the bonus track on a great CD. :) For me, fantasies are just plain fun and something to enjoy in all their lush richness and the same goes for the stories I like to read (my problem is rather, that most stories on the net are so badly written, it HURTS!). If I had to put this in a metaphor I would say that reading your stories is a bit like a big bowl of Mousse au Chocolat for me - only without the calories, which, trust me, is GOOD. ;D

Yeah. Exactly. Fun and games. ;D
Thank you for your compliments, both here and on aff. *sniffle* It's so nice to know someone appreciates the hard work that goes into the writing. I'm glad you're enjoying our stories and appreciate that you actually tell us. ;)

I'm gonna go into admin mode for a second, for all three of our members - should a thread be started for this topic in the general area so we can continue talking about it and leave this thread for its original idea? Or do you think we've run our course on the topic?

Yes, I think you should do that, since I think we will find this topic worthwhile enough to discuss it some more. Plus it would be sad if discussing it would overlay the original idea of this thread.
You know I was thinking, you might do the same in the introduction thread, where we started talking about other stuff as well. Maybe we can have something like a chatroom thread? And then I may also do my duty and tell us about the strange encounter of the third kind with some of the actors... ;D

As soon as I get the chance, I'll set up a thread in the General area to continue this topic.
